LIGHT

•  light is part of the electromagnetic spectrums that can be detectedby human.
•  light travels in straight way.
•  light from sun that traveling to the straight line is called ray.

Beam

•   it is a bundle of rays.
•   there are three types of beam, they are :

a.     parallel beam

b.     convergen beam

c.      divergent beam

Shadow

•  it is one of direct effect of the rectilinear propagation of light.
•  types :

a.     umbra (complete dark shadow)

b.     penumbra (partial shadow)

Luminous and Non Luminous Bodies

• luminous bodies

any object that can give out ligth, such as sun, light, etc.

• non-luminous bodies

any object that can’t give out light, such as picture.

Law of Reflection

• the first law of reflection

the incident ray, the reflected ray and the normal to the surface all lie in the same lane.

• the second law of reflection

the angle of incident is equal to the angle of reflection.

Types of Reflection

• regular reflection

light is reflected in one direction. occurs on the smooth surfaces, such as mirror, clean water surface, etc.

• diffuse reflection

light is relected through a range of different angles. occurs on the rough surfaces, such as unpolishes wall, cloth, etc.
